Laura Meny had significant exposure to legal practice even before her graduation from law school, by virtue of her legal internships with firms in both New Jersey and Connecticut and summer internship with Judge Michael K. Diamond in New Jersey Superior Court- Chancery Division. In law school, she distinguished herself as a conciliator and natural problem-solver, finishing first in both the Quinnipiac University Law School’s Intramural Client Counseling Competition and the American Bar Association Regional Client Counseling Competition. Following graduation, she obtained exposure to less-conciliatory aspects of legal practice through her clerkship with the Honorable Judge Philip H. Mizzone, Jr. in the Superior Court of the State of New Jersey, Criminal Division, Passaic County (Paterson, New Jersey). Her role as a Law Clerk grew beyond that of many of her peers: As her natural instincts to find solutions to problems could not be suppressed, she was frequently enlisted to mediate claims in Small Claims and Landlord-Tenant Court.
