Edward Solensky, Jr., focuses his practice on insurance defense and coverage, premises liability, transportation law, and product liability matters. For the past twenty years, he has successfully defended cases for supermarkets and retailers, restaurants, common carriers, and product manufacturers. Mr. Solensky is uniquely able to plan and implement both offensive and defensive litigation strategies, and brings powerful analytical ability to the complex matters he handles.

Mr. Solensky began his career with an insurance defense firm where he gained experience into the manner in which large corporations and insurance companies defend serious personal injury suits. He left the defense bar in the late 1980s to serve as Corporate Counsel for Anchor Savings Bank FSB and Burns International Security Services, where he directed the company’s self-insured litigation program. Mr. Solensky’s involvement at Burns with premises security issues affords him a unique perspective in defending cases of inadequate security.

Mr. Solensky is a magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Colby College and received his law degree from Syracuse University College of Law in 1985. At Syracuse, he served as Editor of the Syracuse Journal of International Law and Commerce and authored “The President’s International Emergency Economic Powers After Regan v. Wald: An Unchecked Proliferation of Authority”, 12 Syr. J. Int’l Law & Com. 125 (1985).

Mr. Solensky is an active member of the Council on Litigation Management. In January 2011, he was selected to speak at CLM’s 2011 Annual Conference on the topic “Considering Legal Process Outsourcing as Part of Wider Legal Cost Management: Limitations vs Benefits.” He is also a member of the National Retail & Restaurant Defense Association (“NRRDA”), DRI, New Jersey Defense Association and Essex & Morris County Bar Associations.
